"You mean they know the value of something precisely." Ty said, a bit smugly, fingers already feeling warm from the whiskey. He gestured to himself obliging, as if Kira might have somehow forgotten what a catch he was, before wincing as Kira uncharitable dug his knees into his hips. Batting at his best friend's knees half heartedly, he put more space between them as he downed another of the mini liquor bottles, waving a hand dismissively.
"She's not mean to me like you are. You could learn a thing or two from her." He protested, though considering he hadn't spent much one and one time with Chiyo, it was entirely possible she had less manners than her brother. Possible, but unlikely.
He froze slightly when Kira asked after his prom invite, using the excuse of draining the rest of his bottle to give him time to come up with an excuse.
"I wasn't expecting you to say yes." He settled on finally, because while Kira had never seemed to think anything of Ty dating, it didn't mean that Ty didn't feel awkward talking about it. He had never really thought of himself as a stud or a heartbreaker, because not only would Delilah kick his ass but that was more Vivian's expertise, and he didn't relish dating if he didn't take it seriously. He turned his attention fully to Kira, one eyebrow arched. "So why did you?"
The whole thing was strange, in ways that Ty was careful not to analyze too quickly. Kira, who usually wasted no time in bringing up how 'they weren't in the cards' because fate was apparently the most effective cockblock, had kept saying he didn't want to bring the cards into it. Most days, Ty wasn't sure if Kira meant what he said, or if he was just an expert on keeping Ty on the hook.
i will say nothing if nothing is said about the app... /thousand yard stare
